Dose

Side effects include itching, dryness, peeling and redness of the skin as well as a burning or stinging sensation. Allergic contact dermatitis may also develop. The acne may also worsen before it gets better during the first 2 to 4 weeks for treatment.
Bloody diarrhea, abdominal pain, colitis and pseudomembranous colitis may develop in rare circumstances due to the Clindamycin. If diarrhea develops, its use should be discontinued.
Precautions

Drug to Drug Interactions
It should not be used together with products that contain Erythromycin due to antagonism between Erythromycin and Clindamycin.
It should be used with caution in patients receiving neuromuscular blocking agents since Clindamycin can enhance the effect of those agents.
Do not apply it on the skin together with other medications or skincare products.

This means it should be used in pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. However, studies suggest that adapalene does not harm the fetus.
