This blog post teaches you how to apply moisturizer correctly. To do so, do the following:

1.Cleanse your skin
Prepare for moisturizing by washing your face with lukewarm water. Use a gentle cleanser that removes the dirt, excessive oil, sweat and any skincare products from the skin. After cleansing, pat the skin dry but leave it slightly damp.

2.Choose the right moisturizer
Chose a moisturizer that is appropriate for your skin type and skincare concern.
If you have oily, acne-prone skin choose a non-comedogenic moisturizer with acne treatment ingredients like salicylic acid. A good example is Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Moisturizer.

If you have dry skin choose a moisturizer with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerine. A good example is Cerave AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion.

If you have combination skin, choose a non-comedogenic moisturizer with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerine. A good example is Cerave AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion.

If you have sensitive skin choose a hypoallergenic, fragrance-free moisturizer. A good example is Cerave AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion.

If you have normal skin choose a well balanced moisturizer. A good example is Cerave AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion.

If you have mature skin choose a moisturizer with antiaging ingredients like retinol, bakuchiol, and peptides.. A good example is Neutrogena Collagen Bank Face Moisturizer with SPF 30.

If you have dark spots on the skin choose a moisturizer with ingredients like kojic acid, niacinamide and vitamin C. A good example is Hyglow Cream.

3. Apply the moisturizer
Wash your hands and apply the moisturizer to your hands. Gently massage the moisturizer into your face, ears, neck and decolletage with your fingertips using gentle, upward strokes. This is best done within 3 minutes of washing your skin when the it is slightly damp so that you can lock in the moisture.
4. Apply sunscreen
Apply sunscreen after the moisturizer. We recommend the La Roche Posay Invisible Fluid SPF 50 Sunscreen because it contains glycerine and it is non-comedogenic and fragrance-free. This means that it can be used by persons with dry skin, oily skin, combination skin, sensitive skin and normal skin.
