We do not prescribe Finasteride and Dutasteride and oral Minoxidil in our Online Hair Loss Program because of the following reasons:
Finasteride, Dutasteride, and oral Minoxidil can only be prescribed to men and those assigned male at birth (genetic males)
Finasteride and Dutasteride should not be used by a man if his female partner is pregnant or if they are trying to get a baby in the next 12 weeks. Pregnant women should not touch these medications.
Finasteride and Dutasteride can affect the results of the PSA test which is a blood test used in the management of prostate cancer or an enlarged prostate (BPH).
Finasteride and Dutasteride can cause sexual dysfunction (including decreased libido and erectile dysfunction) that may persist after treatment is stopped.
Finasteride and Dutasteride may cause depression.
Finasteride may cause gynecomastia (enlarged breast tissue or man boobs) to develop. Therefore men taking it should check and report any growth, lumps or pain in your chest tissue and any problems urinating.
Oral Minoxidil is generally contraindicated in persons with phaeocromocytoma, pulmonary hypertension with mitral stenosis, angina or recent myocardial infarction (heart attack), left ventricular hypertrophy or heart failure.
Oral Minoxidil should be used with caution in persons with liver or kidney problems including reduced kidney function or chronic liver disease.
Taking oral Minoxidil treatment may cause the following symptoms:
Feeling dizzy or like fainting especially when you stand up due to lowered blood pressure. Fast or irregular heart beat.
Your body holding on to more water than normal and you may notice that your ankles get swollen or your rings get tight, or you put on weight (fluid retention).
Getting breathless and tired, especially if you already have a heart condition.
You may develop angina (chest pains) or if you have angina already it could get worse.
Our online hair loss treatment program does not use these medications. It uses other alternatives.
