Steroderm Mometasone Ointment Uses and Indication
Steroderm ointment contains mometasone and this study found that mometasone was effective for the treatment of atopic dermatitis (eczema), seborrhoeic dermatitis, scalp psoriasis and psoriasis vulgaris.
Mometasone is a corticosteroid which reduces redness, itchiness, swelling and other signs of inflammation in the skin. It does this by blocking the production of chemical messengers known as prostaglandins which make the skin red, swollen and itchy.
Consequently, Steroderm is used to treat eczema, seborrhoeic dermatitis, scalp psoriasis and psoriasis vulgaris.
