Causes Of H Pylori Cancer

H Pylori cancer is caused by the Helicobacter pylori bacteria which is a group 1 carcinogen for stomach cancers known as gastric adenocarcinoma and gastric MALT (mucosa associated lymphoid tissue) lymphoma.

H Pylori Cancer Risk Factors

H Pylori cancer risk factors include the following:

*Being infected with the CagA positive H. pylori bacteria as they are more strongly associated with gastric cancer as they inject the CagA cytotoxin directly into the stomach lining.

*Being infected with the VacA positive H. pylori bacteria as they cause more cellular damage in the stomach

*Following diets that are high in salt, pickled foods, processed meats and nitrate-preserved foods (bacon, ham, hot dogs, sausages, salami, bologna) when you are infected with H. pylori as they worsen stomach lining inflammation which accelerates tissue damage.

*Following diets that are low in fresh fruits and vegetables when you are infected with H. pylori as it increases your risk of getting stomach cancer.

*Smoking when you are infected with H. pylori as it increases your risk of getting stomach cancer.

H Pylori cancer does not cause symptoms in the early stages.

*Nausea

*Vomiting blood which looks like coffee grounds or passing dark, tarry stools

*Change in appetite

*Swelling of the abdomen

The diagnosis of H Pylori cancer is confirmed by doing endoscopy with biopsy in which samples of tissue are taken to be examined in the lab.

The treatment of H Pylori cancer includes the following:
