How to use essential oils

Essential oils can be used in 3 ways – they can be inhaled through the nose, applied to the skin or ingested through the mouth. The best way of using essential oils is by inhaling them. The worst way of using essential oils is by ingesting them since many are not of food grade quality and can therefore be poisonous.

How To Use Essential Oils: Inhale Them

Inhale From Bottle

This is the simplest way of using an essential oil as you just open the bottle and inhale its aroma. This is one way of using essential oils without a diffuser.

Inhale From Cotton Balls

Add 3 drops of the essential oil to a cotton ball and inhale the aroma. You can place the cotton balls in a plastic paper and carry them with you to inhale the aroma throughout the day. You can also place the cotton balls inside your pillow case so that you can inhale the aroma as you fall asleep. This is another way of using essential oils without a diffuser.

How To Use Essential Oils: Massage Them

Make A Massage Oil

Add 6 drops of lavender essential oil to 10 ml of a carrier oil in a dark bottle to make a massage oil. We recommend using jojoba as your carrier oil because it has the same composition as the oil produced by the body and so it can be used by all skin types.

Use this body massage oil to massage your scalp, temples, neck, back, feet and other parts of your body whenever you feel tense.

Jojoba can be purchased from our Self Care Shop located on Moi Avenue, Sawa Mall, 3rd floor, shop C15. Call/Whatsapp 0721 963 156 for countrywide delivery.
