What Is PRP?
PRP stands for platelet rich plasma.
This is a substance that is obtained from the patient’s blood.
A small amount of blood is obtained from the patient and spun in a centrifuge for around 15 minutes to separate the various components of the blood. Plasma is one of the components obtained and it has a high concentration of cells known as platelets and it is thus known as platelet rich plasma or PRP.
These platelets in the PRP contain growth factors which stimulate the growth of hair in the hair follicles.
PRP Microneedling
At Almasi Skincare we use a procedure known as microneedling to put the PRP in the scalp. This procedure uses a device with micro-needles to cause micro-injuries in the scalp. This triggers the body’s healing process and the release of more growth factors.
