Stage 4 alopecia is from the Hamilton-Norwood scale which classifies AGA or male pattern baldness as follows:

Stage 2 There is little hair loss on the temples
Stage 3 There is deep hairline recession on the temples and hairline forming a “M” or “U” shape
Stage 4 There is very deep hairline recession with loss of hair at the crown which is the top of the head
